I chose to make mine uplifting and hopeful, which conjures up all sorts of things...especially this time of year. From new high school graduates and students returning to college all making plans for the future to others reflecting on the summer and wishful of it's soon return.
To the simplest thoughts as simply making progress and hope for the courage and strength to pursue a dream or progress.
Which leads me what making this card is REALLY about. It's bit just about a stamp set. It's about courage and strength.
And My Dear Friend.
Who could truly use a lot of strength and hope right now. Collective strength and hope.
If you remember my friend that was in the terrible motorcycle accident last year, she is still very much in the midst of recovery. She has been steadily improving over the year and is now approaching the one year mark where she was told that nerve damage repair plateaus. Because of this milestone, she has been praying, hoping, and watching closely those part of her body where the nerve damage is severe and constantly painful.
She remains hopeful, believing she can be that one outlier on the statistics that quantify the one year mark.
But there was one bit of information that knocked the wind from her a bit. She was informed on a recent visit to the Wilmer Eye Institute that eye nerve damage doesn't repair. And she has quite extensive eye injuries. Such disheartening news.
This is a card to let her know that her dear friends are still cheering for her. Because we know from watching the series of miracles that have blessed her life, this is yet a minor set back.
Joanne, my dear friend, I love you and admire the strength you have kept as your body puts itself back together!
